Actor Akshay Kumar is known to maintain a low profile and doesn’t do much to be seen or heard. He simply does his work and moves on. However, that’s not what ‘stardom’ is all about. And filmmaker Vipul Shah is hell bent on teaching him just that. For Namastey London, Vipul after much coaxing managed to convince Akshay to fly down from Jaipur and watch the film a couple of times with the aam junta in the theatres. Vipul tells us, “I strongly felt that it was important for Akshay as an actor to see the reaction of the live audiences. Akshay is very happy the way film is faring at the box office, but it’s not always about only B.O. collections. It’s important to grow as an actor and constantly be in touch with the masses, observe when they clap, laugh, whistle. And Akshay just loved the reaction he got when we quietly sneaked into the theatres to watch the film. He just couldn’t believe the instant energy.” Let’s hope the experience was good enough to make the actor connect with his fans every time a film of his releases
