Salman Khan Shining: Some of the star’s hit films will be showcased at the IIFA

The IIFA (International Indian Film Academy) award function scheduled to be held from June 7 to June 10 in Yorkshire, UK will screen Salman Khan’s hits—‘Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya’, ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’, ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Hum Aapke Hai Kaun’ and ‘Tere Nam’. However, ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ will not be screened. Salman will also be performing at the event. The event will also screen some of the finest films of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Satyajit Ray. The film ‘Colours of Sacrifice’ (the English version of ‘Rang De Basanti’) will also be showcased. Present for the same will be Soha Ali Khan, Kirron Kher and director Rakesh Mehra.

Moreover, Emraan Hashmi’s film ‘The Train’ will be premiered at the festival followed by a cricket match, which will have actors Urmila Matondkar and Preity Zinta giving the commentary. Saif Ali Khan will captain the celebrity team which will include Kapil Dev, Ajay Jadeja, Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan and Zayed Khan.

The week long function will conclude with the awards ceremony, which will be hosted by Lara Dutta, Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani. The curtain raiser event will witness the presence of Amitabh Bachchan and Hollywood actor Sienna Miller. The performers include Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty, Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu.

Teji Singh, the founder of Sterling Media, the communication agency of IIFA says, “We are expecting Hollywood celebrities including Colin Firth, Monty Panesar, Shawn Wright Phillips, Emma Thompson and Roger Christian.”
